Apart from being a writer and poet, Janet Jackson is an extremely curious person. So curious she couldn’t resist to see who was knocking at her door and opened it despite just having jumped out from under the shower, dripping wet only wrapped with a towel.
This was my first impression of Janet and Mattie Furphy House. Pat, the backbone of FAWWA, introduced my to the residency and showed me around the house to get an impression of what my four weeks would be like here. This slightly awkward moment where private and public sphere were crossed from one room to the next is exactly what this residency is about. At least for me.
You can read all about Janet’s impressions here. Her poetry readings/music performances are absolutely worth visiting and you can find out about how to connect with Janet through her website.
